Beechwood Body Brush — Soft Bristle
Beechwood body brush with soft-to-medium bristles and nylon hand strap. A well-proportioned daily grooming brush for lifting dust, loose hair, and surface debris from the coat without irritating sensitive skin.
Product Details
The daily body brush is the piece of grooming equipment a horse encounters more consistently than any other. Selected correctly, it removes loose hair, dried sweat residue, and dust from the coat without irritating the skin — and applied with the right technique, distributes natural oils along the hair shaft to produce the kind of coat finish that comes from condition rather than product.
This beechwood body brush is built around a 12.5cm oval wooden back — the correct proportion for a hand-held brush that fits the natural arc of the palm and follows the body's contours without constant repositioning. The bristles are soft-to-medium in firmness: suited to regular use across the topline, neck, and barrel where the coat is fine and skin sits close to the surface. They move freely enough to flick debris clear of the coat rather than trapping it in the bristle head.
The nylon hand strap, fixed with two solid brass rivets, is the correct closure style for a body brush used at pace. The strap holds the brush securely against the back of the hand during vigorous strokes without slippage, and requires no adjustment mid-session. The rivets sit flush with the wooden back — no protruding hardware to create friction during grooming.
Beechwood is the appropriate material for a brush back used daily: hard-wearing, dimensionally stable in stable humidity, and smooth enough not to trap grit against the palm. The oval profile sits naturally in the hand without requiring a deliberate grip.
Use this brush as the second pass after a rubber curry or dandy — the stage at which loose debris has been broken up and the job is to lift it from the coat, smooth the hair flat, and begin producing a finish. For horses with fine or sensitive skin, it can serve as the primary grooming tool across the entire body.
Clean between sessions by drawing the bristles across a stiff brush cleaner or rubber curry — this removes accumulated hair and dust and preserves bristle alignment and effectiveness over time.

Excellent body brush — the beechwood back is solid and the bristles are exactly the right firmness for daily use. My mare's coat has a noticeably better finish since I started using this as my regular body brush. The nylon strap is secure and the brass rivets look quality. Does exactly what a good body brush should.
Really happy with this brush. The bristles are soft enough for my thoroughbred's sensitive skin but firm enough to actually move debris. The wooden back is good quality and the hand strap holds it securely during grooming. My horse's coat looks genuinely great after a session with it.
Good body brush for everyday use. The beechwood is solid, bristles are well-set, and the nylon strap keeps it secure in the hand. I use it after the curry comb stage and it finishes the coat nicely. Very practical.
