Western Saddle — Full Cowhide Leather
Thickened full cowhide Western saddle with traditional tooled construction. Pure leather throughout — built for trail, ranch, and long days in the saddle.
Product Details
The Western saddle is the most purpose-engineered seat in equestrian history — developed over centuries of working ranch life where riders spent ten hours a day in the saddle across unforgiving terrain. This full cowhide Western saddle honours that tradition with construction that prioritises durability, weight distribution, and rider security above all else.
Full cowhide throughout means no composite panels, no bonded leather surfaces, no shortcuts at the contact points that matter most. The seat, fenders, jockeys, and skirts are cut from the same grade of thick, dense cowhide that working cowhorses have relied on for generations. The leather is heavy enough to resist stretching and distortion under sustained load, yet supple enough to break in to a personalised fit over time.
The thickened seat construction places the rider in the deep, secure position that Western riding demands — weight distributed evenly across both seat bones and thighs, horn forward, back straight. This posture reduces fatigue on long trail rides and ranch work while maintaining the control and communication necessary for precision rein work and stock handling.
The tree is sized and balanced for the broad-backed horses that Western disciplines traditionally favour — Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas — distributing the rider's weight across a wider panel surface than English saddles, which is essential for horses carrying a working rider across varied terrain over many hours.
The tooled leather detailing on the skirts and jockeys is traditional in pattern and execution — a visual statement of quality and craft that is immediately legible to anyone who knows Western tack. Horn, cantle, and fenders are all correctly proportioned for functional use rather than aesthetic imitation.

I've ridden in a lot of Western saddles over the years and this one is exceptional for the price. The leather is genuinely thick and quality — it broke in faster than I expected and the seat is incredibly comfortable over a full day of ranch work. The tooling is beautiful.
Bought this for trail riding on my Quarter Horse and it fits him beautifully. The cowhide quality is apparent immediately — much heavier and more substantial than other saddles I've seen at this price. Comfortable seat and the leather is already softening nicely.
Excellent Western saddle. The full cowhide construction is very evident — this is a proper leather saddle, not a synthetic pretending to be one. My mare goes well in it and it's comfortable over long trail rides. The tooling detail is really beautiful. Very happy.
