At 3.1kg, this is among the lightest full-construction saddles available — a weight saving that compounds meaningfully over 80 or 160 kilometres of competitive riding. The reduction is achieved through intelligent design rather than material compromise: the tree is precision-engineered to provide structural rigidity with minimal material, and the cowhide construction is selected for its superior strength-to-weight ratio versus synthetic alternatives.
The seat cushion is thick and contoured for the specific postural demands of endurance riding. Unlike arena disciplines, endurance riders spend extended periods in a neutral or slightly forward position across varying terrain; the cushioning is calibrated to support this posture over time, reducing the fatigue and pressure point development that affects riders in conventional saddles on long rides.
Premium cowhide is used throughout: naturally supple, moisture-resistant, and able to withstand the temperature variation and sustained sweat exposure that endurance competition produces. The leather develops with use, moulding to horse and rider over successive rides.

I've competed in three 80-mile rides in this saddle and it has performed flawlessly. The weight difference from my previous saddle is noticeable over a long ride — both for my horse's movement and my own energy levels.
