Aluminum Racing Stirrups — 4½"
Lightweight aluminum racing stirrups in 4½" footbed. Precision-cast for strength without weight, available in gold and silver finishes.
Product Details
The aluminum stirrup is one of the most consequential pieces of tack a rider can upgrade — and one of the most overlooked. The Aluminum Racing Stirrups are precision-cast from aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, delivering a strength-to-weight ratio that steel simply cannot match at this size. At 4½ inches, the footbed accommodates a broad range of boot widths while maintaining the close contact and feedback that racing and arena disciplines demand.
The weight reduction over traditional steel stirrups is immediately noticeable in the leg. A lighter stirrup allows the leg to swing and absorb movement more naturally, reducing fatigue across long rides and improving the rider's ability to maintain a correct, independent leg position. For racing disciplines specifically, reduced stirrup weight compounds across every stride — a meaningful performance advantage at speed.
The cast aluminum construction eliminates the flex and distortion that affects stamped-steel alternatives under load. The footbed tread pattern is machined for grip, providing secure purchase even in wet conditions without the bulk of rubber tread inserts. The eye is reinforced at the leathering point — the area of maximum stress — ensuring the stirrup maintains its geometry under sustained use.
Available in polished gold and silver finishes. Sold as a pair. Compatible with all standard English leathers.

Switched from steel to these and noticed the difference immediately. My leg feels much freer and I'm not fighting the stirrup weight in my two-point position anymore. The gold finish is beautiful and has held up perfectly through months of regular use.
Excellent stirrups for the price. Very light, well cast, and the tread provides solid grip even in the rain. The polished finish is lovely. Docking one star only because the packaging could be better — the stirrups themselves are genuinely impressive quality.
Bought these for my young Thoroughbred and the weight difference from my old irons is remarkable. The aluminum feels solid — no flex at all underfoot. Very happy with the quality and they look beautifully sleek on the saddle.
