Every Handcrafted Leather Saddle from Corvere begins as a single hide of full-grain European leather — the highest grade available, retaining the natural grain pattern and imperfections that give each saddle its unique character. Unlike corrected-grain or bonded leather alternatives, full-grain leather grows more beautiful with age, developing a patina that tells the story of every ride.
The tree — the structural foundation of the saddle — is individually fitted and tested before leatherwork begins. A correctly fitted tree is non-negotiable for horse welfare and rider performance; ours are crafted from quality materials and fitted to close contact specifications. The deep seat places the rider in the optimal balanced position, reducing fatigue and improving communication through the seat bones.
The forward-cut flap positions the rider's knee and thigh correctly for modern jumping and flatwork, while the soft knee block provides support without restriction. Every panel is stuffed with premium wool flocking, allowing for professional adjustment to any horse's back shape. Double-flap construction protects the leather from girth and stirrup wear.
Every stitch is placed by hand using traditional saddlery techniques that have not changed in three centuries. The result is a saddle that, with proper care, will outlast its rider — a gift to pass down.
