The weight and feel of this crop is immediately different from any synthetic I've used. My mare picks up on it much more readily — the sound alone seems to be enough once she's learned it. Very well balanced and the cane is quality throughout. Excellent schooling tool.
I wanted something with more presence than my usual lightweight crop and this delivers exactly that. The thick cane shaft has a satisfying weight and the flex is perfect — firm enough to mean something but not stiff. My gelding has sharpened up considerably in transitions since I started using it.
